Family sessions generally consist of images of the entire family, sibling shots, then individual shots of children. As a photographer I love taking fun candid “lifestyle” shots of my clients interacting with each other as well as several posed images. I have a GREAT resource for families on what to wear.
As a single mom I am always behind the camera. I've done the documentation of my daughter over the last 18 years. It wasn't until my daughter was sponsored by a photographer that I was able to enjoy the moments. We are blessed to have a few session like "Mommy n Me" and some canids of us together. Family portraits boost your children's self-esteem! It's actually been proven by psychologists that it's incredibly healthy for your children to physically see your family as a unit, and to see themselves represented as a valued member of that unit.
